The Acting Facility
In the year 2000 Michelle Danner and Larry Moss founded Edgemar Center for the Arts, a two theater and art gallery complex. The Larry Moss Studio has been housed at Edgemar since the cutting of the ribbon in 2002 and now houses The Michelle Danner Studio. Staffed by a diverse faculty of many teachers with Michele Danner at the helm, The mission of the studio is to provide a creative home to a community of passionate actors. Our Los Angeles Acting School “The Golden Box” fosters a generation of actors that are taught acting for the 21st century. Our approach to the craft of acting encompasses and embraces the philosophies from Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, Sanford Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Michael Chekhov to the Stanislavsky method.
We are housed at Edgemar Center for the Arts, a two theater and art gallery complex in Santa Monica, California. Nestled between a cafe, a salon, and retail shops, the Edgemar Center for the Arts is the anchor of the Edgemar complex on Main Street in Santa Monica. The complex is a stop on the tour of local gems designed by architect Frank Gehry.
Edgemar serves not only as the facility for one one of the top acting schools in los angeles, but also as a collaborative rehearsal and performance space that is open to artists of all disciplines and experience levels. It’s a space where original and classical theater productions, dance performances, visual arts and films festivals can collaborate with independent, experimental, and student works in various stages of development.
Edgemar Center for the Arts is a 7,500 square ft. facility that houses two state of the art theaters and an art gallery.
Our acting studio is located in the heart of Los Angeles’ entertainment industry.
